Happy Easter at the Yarra House Easter Garden!

The springtime sunshine brought smiles and joy to the Yarra House Easter Garden this year! Over three fun-filled days, from the 29th to the 31st of March, our Yarra House came alive with egg-cellent activities, informative sessions, and a warm sense of community.
For those who couldn’t make it, let’s take a stroll through the festivities and see what made this Easter celebration so special!
A Welcoming Hub for All
The Yarra House Easter Garden opened its doors wide to everyone, fostering a truly inclusive environment. Whether you speak Chinese, Persian, or Hindi, friendly staff were on hand to provide assistance and ensure everyone felt comfortable participating.
A Celebration of Creativity
The Easter spirit bloomed brightly in the Arts and Crafts corner. Children of all ages unleashed their inner artists, crafting colourful masterpieces and participating in the messy (but oh-so-fun!) world of pottery making. The vibrant creations that emerged were a testament to the power of imagination and a delightful way to express the joy of Easter.
The Thrill of the Hunt
No Easter celebration is complete without a classic egg hunt! With hidden treasures waiting to be discovered around the Yarra House grounds, excitement ran high as participants searched for colorful eggs. The smiles on their faces as they uncovered their prizes were truly priceless.
Games, Prizes, and Sweet Treats
The fun didn’t stop there! Games and prizes kept the laughter flowing throughout the event. From classic favourites to exciting new challenges, there was something for everyone to enjoy. And, of course, no celebration is complete without delicious treats! Sweet goodies were on hand to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth, adding a touch of sugary delight to the festivities.
And, beyond the Easter Fun
The Yarra House Easter Garden offered more than just Easter cheer. Informative sessions provided valuable insights on aged care support for those above 65, disability support options, and mental health resources. These sessions were a fantastic opportunity to learn about crucial services and connect with helpful information.
Building Bridges and Careers
The event also fostered a strong sense of community. Through networking opportunities and information sessions, individuals interested in careers in caregiving, social work, and allied health fields were able to explore potential career paths and connect with professionals in the industry. It was a great platform to learn, connect, and discover fulfilling opportunities within the disability and aged care sectors.
A Place Where Everyone Feels Welcome
The Yarra House Easter Garden went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt comfortable and supported. Accessible bathrooms, incontinence product usage space, and on-site medication administration ensured everyone could participate fully. This commitment to inclusivity truly embodies the spirit of the Yarra House community.
A Warm Closing Note
As the Easter weekend came to a close, our Easter Garden event left behind a warm feeling of joy, connection, and community. It was a celebration of creativity, learning, and togetherness, reminding us all of the importance of fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
